[Wembley cast his smile down towards the violet when Gobo mentioned the gift, though he spared a glance up at his friend here and there as he spoke.]

Yeah? I... I thought it would be nice for you to have one.

[gobetween]

It's great!

[He swung an arm around Wembley's shoulders and squeezed him in for a brief hug.]

It's a lot better than my old one, too. I'm gonna use it every time I need it.

[Wembley chuckled as he returned he gesture.]

Good! So, did you have a happy birthday?

[gobetween]

Yeah! It was a pretty good day.

[He took a careful seat beside Wembley, tucking his tail around him so he didn't break off any flower heads.]

Better than my last birthday. [Smirking lightly, he nudged him with his elbow.] Right, Ribbit?

[Wembley snorted with laughter, nodding.]

Aw, I don't know, Gobo, I think Boober had a worse time of that than either of us!

[gobetween]

Thinking I wasn't going to have much of a birthday wasn't fun. [Though, he was laughing as he spoke.] But I think you're right! Boober definitely got the short end of the stick that day.

And it still turned out pretty fun in the end.

[He slung his arm around his neck again, hugging him close.]

[He smiled and nodded - just a bit, so his horns wouldn't bop Gobo's head.]

It sure did! I hope that little Space Frog wound up finding somewhere out there where he's really happy!

I hope he did, too!

[Sitting back some, he looked all around them, turning his head this way and that.]

So, how long have you been out here, anyway?

[Wembley chuckled, shrugging.]

I'm not sure. Since a little after the sun came up, I think?

[gobetween]

[He looked at him with a blink and a laugh.]

Wembley, why didn't you wake me up?

[forachange]

Well, I thought about it, should I have? I just... I used to wake you up all the time, back at the Rock, and-

[Another shrug.]

I don't know, I just thought maybe I don't need you to be awake whenever I am. Maybe I could let you sleep, you know? Oh! Not that I don't want to be with you, though, I mean you're my best friend!

[gobetween]

[He leaned back some so he could look at him, and after a moment he smiled.]

Yeah, I get it. I'm glad you had some fun out here by yourself this morning! [Snickering some, he leaned down to a flower, liiiightly pushing a petal with a fingertip.] You're definitely doing really well with this power.

Yeah, it's been a pretty great morning! [He grinned at the compliment.] You really think so? It's definitely a fun one!

I think so, too. Though, I still wonder what other kinda powers you've got. We never did really figure that out.

[It'll come up in time, he knows, but he's also impatient. It's a species trait.]

Hmm, yeah...

[He shakes his head, and oops, this time Gobo's getting bonked with one of the horns.]

Sorry! Oh, do those count as a power?

[gobetween]

[He flinched backwards, rubbing his face where the horn hit. Jeez, give him a black eye why dontcha?]

No, I don't think so. Not unless you can charge people with them, or something.

I probably could, but I don't want to.

[gobetween]

Yeah, I don't blame you. Seems like a headache and a half to me.

[It didn't seem like Wembley to do that sort of thing anyway. Nor did it seem like Ferdinand- out of his own curiosity he'd read the story on his last trip to the Library, but it wasn't bringing him any closer to the question of Wembley's powers.

...Of course, he didn't figure out half his own powers until a good while into his stay here either but, details.]

It probably would be, and it wouldn't be very nice.

[He scratched just below the horn on the opposite side of Gobo.]

Well, anyway, I'd be okay if I just have the flowers and being strong. I'd be okay even without the being strong!

[gobetween]

[He smiled and nodded, leaning back on his hands.]

Yeah, the flowers themselves are pretty nice, aren't they.

Yeah!

[He may have picked a few of them during his first few days, but as he felt closer and closer to the flowers, he'd stopped doing that. After all, he may have made them, but they were still real, living plants. He got to his feet, putting his hands on his hips as he looked around.]

You must've explored a lot of the Index by now, huh?

[gobetween]

I sure have! [Though Wembley stood up Gobo remained seated for now, resting his hands on his ankles.] I feel like I've got a pretty good lay of the land by now.

I knew you would have! But, gee, you think there's maybe part of the land where you maybe don't?

[He glances back, chuckling.]

You know, so we could explore it together!

[gobetween]

[He looked up at him and smiled brightly, sitting up some.]

Yeah, there probably is! And even if not, there's some places I could definitely go over in more detail.

[He rocked to his feet and got up, uncoiling his tail as he went and turning to go toward his door.]

[Watch the tail, Gobo, those flowers are friends-! Wembley made a small sound of surprised concern as he leaned around and down to tend to check on the ones that had been hit--

Ooh, speaking of hitting things, one of his horns definitely bonked against Gobo's head there. Oops?]
