Here is where you can leave postcards messages, journal notes, gifts, or play out one-on-one threads springing off any of those. If it's mail, this is where you stick it.
[On the 14th, Gobo will wake up to find something wrapped in fabric by his bed, along with a note written in the language of Fraggles:]
Hi Gobo! Sorry I didn't realize it was your birthday sooner! The differences in time are still a little confusing, and then I couldn't say happy birthday to you until I got your present! I hope you like it! I got the idea from your key. So now I can say it - Happy birthday! ♡ Wembley
[The compass was a pleasant surprise when he got up. Honestly he hadn't been expecting much of anything, if only because not even he could keep track of the dates even though he'd been told them by Kotori. And while the compass wasn't technically needed, given one of his Essence powers, he couldn't remember if he'd even told Wembley about that in the first place, and besides it was appreciated anyway.
Folding the note up and putting it into one vest pocket, he checked around his home and didn't see Wembley anyway, so he decided to try "upstairs." Maybe he was out in the flowers again.]
[Wembley could be found sitting in a self-made flower patch, low on the hill. He was paying some attention to a little violet, gently stroking its petals, as if it was more of a pet than a plant. He heard Gobo's door shut and smiled, glancing over.]
Thinking I wasn't going to have much of a birthday wasn't fun. [Though, he was laughing as he spoke.] But I think you're right! Boober definitely got the short end of the stick that day.
And it still turned out pretty fun in the end.
[He slung his arm around his neck again, hugging him close.]
Well, I thought about it, should I have? I just... I used to wake you up all the time, back at the Rock, and-
[Another shrug.]
I don't know, I just thought maybe I don't need you to be awake whenever I am. Maybe I could let you sleep, you know? Oh! Not that I don't want to be with you, though, I mean you're my best friend!
[He leaned back some so he could look at him, and after a moment he smiled.]
Yeah, I get it. I'm glad you had some fun out here by yourself this morning! [Snickering some, he leaned down to a flower, liiiightly pushing a petal with a fingertip.] You're definitely doing really well with this power.
Yeah, I don't blame you. Seems like a headache and a half to me.
[It didn't seem like Wembley to do that sort of thing anyway. Nor did it seem like Ferdinand- out of his own curiosity he'd read the story on his last trip to the Library, but it wasn't bringing him any closer to the question of Wembley's powers.
...Of course, he didn't figure out half his own powers until a good while into his stay here either but, details.]
[He may have picked a few of them during his first few days, but as he felt closer and closer to the flowers, he'd stopped doing that. After all, he may have made them, but they were still real, living plants. He got to his feet, putting his hands on his hips as he looked around.]
You must've explored a lot of the Index by now, huh?

Morning! Nice day, huh?
no subject
Morning! Haven't been up long enough to know yet how the day will be, but I do know I got a pretty nice surprise.
[Carefully stepping his way through the flowers, he crouched beside where Wembley was sitting, smiling at him.]
Thanks. It was a really nice gift.
no subject
Yeah? I... I thought it would be nice for you to have one.

[He swung an arm around Wembley's shoulders and squeezed him in for a brief hug.]
It's a lot better than my old one, too. I'm gonna use it every time I need it.
no subject
Good! So, did you have a happy birthday?
no subject
[He took a careful seat beside Wembley, tucking his tail around him so he didn't break off any flower heads.]
Better than my last birthday. [Smirking lightly, he nudged him with his elbow.] Right, Ribbit?
no subject
Aw, I don't know, Gobo, I think Boober had a worse time of that than either of us!

And it still turned out pretty fun in the end.

It sure did! I hope that little Space Frog wound up finding somewhere out there where he's really happy!

[Sitting back some, he looked all around them, turning his head this way and that.]
So, how long have you been out here, anyway?
no subject
I'm not sure. Since a little after the sun came up, I think?
no subject
Wembley, why didn't you wake me up?

[It'll come up in time, he knows, but he's also impatient. It's a species trait.]

[He shakes his head, and oops, this time Gobo's getting bonked with one of the horns.]
Sorry! Oh, do those count as a power?
no subject
No, I don't think so. Not unless you can charge people with them, or something.

[He scratched just below the horn on the opposite side of Gobo.]
Well, anyway, I'd be okay if I just have the flowers and being strong. I'd be okay even without the being strong!
no subject
Yeah, the flowers themselves are pretty nice, aren't they.
